Our Curriculum

Where We Shine Early Learning Center is primarily a play based developmental preschool. A day at preschool includes many exciting adventures in arts and crafts, music and movement, stories, games, active play indoors and outdoors. Teachers continually assess children’s progress and share their observations with parents. We use Zoo Phonics and teaching strategies (creative curriculum). This curriculum will look different in each classroom depending on the age of the child and what is developmentally appropriate.

Arts and Crafts

Children can participate in many arts and crafts, which include but are not limited to: watercolors, play dough, finger painting, coloring with markers and/or crayons, and creating themed crafts such as sea creatures, animals and puppets.

Circle Time

Our circle time is generally used as a time when children can settle down for a bit, learning to relax, and be able to participate in a classroom setting. Each classroom’s circle time will look different depending on the age of the child. Circle time is introduced in the toddler room During this time the teacher will often read interactive stories or talk about a specific topic of learning for the day and then ask the children to respond to them, sing and dance as well as some classrooms do calendar time.

Outdoor Play

The teachers at Where We Shine Early Learning Center want to share their love of the outdoors with your children! Therefore, we spend as much time playing and learning outside as we can. Children can stretch, get the “Wiggles Out” after being indoors, and enjoy the fresh air.

Imagination Time

This can also be categorized as “Free Play”. For a child, using one’s imagination is the greatest tool they possess. Being able to develop and play in their own way is critical for their development and growth. So, at Where We Shine Early Learning Center our staff always set aside an amount of time for your children to simply be kids. There is no end to where our imagination can take us!

*AM Preschool 9am-11:45am $500/Monthly fee

*PM Preschool 1pm-3:45pm $500/Monthly fee

AM Session- 9am-11:45am

Parents will be allowed a 15 min grace period. Children may be allowed to be dropped off as early as 8:45am and picked up as late as 12pm. Any earlier or later than that is subject to A late fee of $1 per minutes.

PM Session- 1pm-3:45pm
