Meet the Owner

My name is Melissa Davis I am no stranger to early childhood education. I have been in the early childhood field since 2007. I grew up in Southern California and moved here to Washington with my husband and two children in 2016. I have worked with children of all ages. I first started teaching at a Tae Kwon Do studio where I taught ages 2-5-year-old children. Then I went on to teaching in a Before and After school program for two years. Right before we moved to Washington, I was working at an academic Preschool center for 5 years where I taught preschool. Once in Washington I taught at a Co-Op preschool in Puyallup.

Vision

Creating a vision for a daycare center involves defining the purpose and values that will guide the center’s operations, curriculum, and overall approach to childcare and early education.

Philosophy

Where We Shine Early Learning Center is a primarily play based developmental preschool. The children will learn and develop skills through both playing indoor/outdoor and learning in the classroom setting as well. The children will be taught in a developmental appropriate approach, meaning that each child will be taught at their own appropriate age and stage.
